Our Misson Statement
We have a dream for our wonderful community! Most of the Excel Wellston board members have grown up in this area. We have fallen in love with Wellston and all that living here has to offer us and our children. As we have developed into adults we have also evolved into business owners. Having experienced the hardship that can accompany owning a business in a rural area, we can appreciate the amount of hard work, passion, and conviction it requires to be successful. Now that we have established ourselves and created deep roots in our community, it's time to turn our efforts to assist our community to flourish. Our dream is to create and enhance business development in Wellston. Tourism is one way to accomplish this goal. Bringing revenues to our area and encouraging local spending is one way to increase business, provide employment, and keep local money, local. Creating new and enhancing old business is a key element in a successful, flourishing community. Businesses bring employment. Our area lacks employment and many of our residents find themselves traveling 30-50 miles one way for work. Imagine a fully developed community with more employment options! Cutting travel time will additionally create more family time!
The mission is NOT to change Wellston. We would like to remain a tight knit community. We would like to take our abandoned buildings, homes, and run down parts of our town and turn them into something wonderful, something to be proud of. We plan to collaborate with existing organizations as we really all have the same goal in mind, bettering our community! If we can work together and set aside our differences, we can make some amazing changes that will impact many generations to come.

North Country Trail Run dates set for 2022
The North Country Trail Run organizers have set the dates for 21st Annual race. The race will occur on August 27th & 28th, 2022. Registration is already taking place and lodging close to the race is already filling up quickly due to the 2020 cancellation.
